The Cornwall Community Co-Op will open this season’s Wednesday Farmers Market on May 30th, in the usual location in front of Town Hall. The third season will bring back some customer favorite vendors from last summer offering fresh fruit, vegetables, poultry, meat and cheeses, plus more farm products like honey, jam and fresh pressed juices. The market will continue through October 24, 2012. For the first time an extension market, featuring locally made and sourced manufactured goods in addition to farm products and food, will open on Saturday, June 2. The extension market will continue each first Saturday through October 6 from 11am-3pm. “We expect the Saturday market to capture a lot of the weekend traffic that Cornwall already attracts, plus boost it by adding another great activity to a Cornwall visit,” said Rachel Scirbona, the Co-Op’s new board president. She added, “And with the Wednesday market becoming a mainstay on farmers’ and buyers’ calendars, we’re excited to serve current customers and bring in a lot of new ones.” The Co-Op is filling out a roster of vendors for both markets and has posted a vendor information form on its website, cornwallcoop.com. The Co-Op’s recently-elected Vice President, Lauren Grace, said “This is a great opportunity for local growers and producers to connect to a vibrant community. There is going to be some seriously good eating in Cornwall this summer.”

Please join your fellow members at the Co-Op’s Fifth(!) annual meeting!
March 6th, 2012 ((New Date)
7:30 pm
Munger Cottage
Cornwall

Since its founding in 2008, the Cornwall Community Co-Op has delivered a variety of programs around a simple mission: increasing access to local, wholesome, ethically produced products. In 2011:

• We continued to organize and run the Cornwall Farmers’ Market
• Kiernan Farms enrolled Co-Op members in a buying club for grass-fed beef and other farm products
• Members ordered Thanksgiving turkeys from Gray’s Family Farm
• Members received a 10% discount on products at Blooming Hill Farm

2012 promises to be even more exciting. Members have been stepping forward to run for positions on the Co-Op Board of Directors, and ideas for new programs continue to pour in from the community.

It’s also time to pay the annual Co-op maintenance fee of $25 per member family. Please mail your payment to Cornwall Community Co-op, PO Box 493, Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY 12520. Please send your payment in at your earliest convenience, or bring a check to the meeting on [DATE].

Meeting Agenda:
• Board of Directors report
• Farmers’ Market update
• Nominate and elect Board and officers
• Collect dues
• Future event planning
• Field new program ideas
• Committee volunteers

Stay involved by coming to the meeting and renewing your membership, and know that your $25 dollars is going towards great work. We hope all Member-Owners will attend.
